George “Buck” H. Rogers III
May 11, 1949 – February 8, 2024
It is with great sadness that we at Pioneer Sales must report the passing of our founder, George “Buck” Rogers III, who passed away on February 8th, 2024.
Buck started Pioneer Refrigeration in 1972, which later became Pioneer Sales Co., Inc. in 1980. He started in the ice cream industry selling Kelvinator dipping cabinets with his father George Rogers Jr. Buck was a great friend, loving husband, proud father and grandfather. From these humble beginnings, Pioneer Sales just celebrated our 50th year in business in 2022.
Buck, to anyone who ever met him, was the heart and soul of the company but had time for everyone, was always engaged and interested in the people he met. In addition, he had a great intellect and was forever learning new things and developing new ideas. Buck will be missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing him and experiencing his warmth, generosity and creativity that he so freely shared.
Buck leaves behind a loving wife of 48 years, three children who will miss him greatly, as well as five grandchildren, and a legacy that survives through those that he touched and the company he created.
